Hello,

I’ll be honest I know very little about boats, we went to lakes as a kid and used family boats but my parents never owned one.

It came with the trailer and boat, registration for both. I just got it home and cleaned it up a little.

I was told it floats and the motor was running a year ago. To get it going it will need at minimum new gas, it’s a 2 stroke so I’m going to do 50:1 ratio unless someone can tell me otherwise. Does anyone know how to find the manual for this engine? I honestly have no idea cu I was told it’s 70’s engine, Chrysler 35hp.

It’s good battery connectors that look like they just need some wire brush cleaning.

Other questions I have about engine:

What size battery do I need? Could I use the battery out of my 2017 Audi to test if it works, or am I asking for problems?

I was told it’s water cooled and to replace those components before giving it a start, what am I looking for?

Should I just clean this up and take it to a marine shop or would they laugh at me?

About the boat:

The outer fiberglass seems sturdy enough, no holes or soft spots on the exterior. The seats are hard and seem very sturdy, not sure if they are actually hard plastic or not.

It’s clear the interior flooring needs repair if I wanna get more long term use out of this boat. There are soft spots in the flooring but it doesn’t break through, I’m 6’1 230lbs and it holds my weight.

It seems like the fiberglass flooring is peeling away from w.e is underneath? Maybe plywood? Unclear. I know very little about repairing fiberglass other than a few google searches and a couple videos I’ve seen.

I get the idea but my question is do I just need to cut all this floooring in the back out or do y’all think I could just peel away/break away the loose fiberglass and then repair those spots?

Thanks everyone for any guidance/resources you could provide to help me along the way. I’m willing to put some money into this to make a nice little lake/bay boat.

It was previously used to take to SF baseball games and catch balls outta the water.

Bought this cheap and was told it’s a 1960’s runabout boat, need help with everything.
