My mom said to me "I always knew you would suffer a lot in this life, even when you were a kid"

Stuff Natalists Say

We were talking about how Im in my early 30s, still plagued with the anxiety and depression that I've had since childhood, along with work injuries I've sustained over the years. How this has inhibited me from happiness, and how I've been depressed all my life.

She was telling me that I need to "not be ruled by fear" and turn to God. I told her that ive tried therapy, self-improvement, meditation, getting out of my comfort zone, you name it. And it got me through the worst of it, but there is always this perpetual depression that I seem to have had since I've even had memories in general. The way my parents raised me did not help at all, and contributed to at least half my problems. Same with the bullying etc etc

She then went onto dampen my spirits even more by saying "I always knew since you were a little kid that you would suffer so much, and you're still suffering. It breaks my heart".

On one hand, at least she cares enough to get broken hearted about it, and at least she has some awareness about the inevitable suffering in this life. On the other hand, I'm angry. Why am I here? Why did I have to be brought here? If you knew, why did you contribute to it? Even if she didn't contribute, the world would've done the job for her.

Anyway, it feels terrible to be the child who was prophesized to suffer. But aren't we all in some way?
