Officially adding unsolicited sermons to Christian County Library board meetings purposed
In a bold move to fix… absolutely none of the real issues facing public services, the Christian County Library Board is proposing to add “invocations” to the start of their public board meetings. Because apparently what we really need before discussing library policy is a ceremonial nod to divine intervention.
So if you thought the library was just about books, internet access, and community programs—silly you. It’s also about testing the establishment clause and seeing how fast we can slide into a taxpayer-funded prayer circle.
Public meetings are, by definition, for everyone.
Heads up, folks. Show up, speak up. Or prepare add amen to the agenda. The next meeting is July 22 at 5:30pm at the Nixa Branch.
