I didn't buy ice cream - cravings

Career / Education / Productivity

Since few monts I have super intense cravings for ice cream. But did change my diet and I really try not to eat sugar.

I had conversations in my head couple of times, while I heard the voice "this is the last time you let those cravings controls you" and yeah, my mind definitely is great at lying :D

Today I had the same. I was looking for something completely different and my mind reminded me of particular ice cream I can buy in this shop.

My face instantly had a big smile on it. I was literally happy and giggling.

I checked the price, it was more expensive than I remembered and that helped a little. Still i really really wanted it.

I was walking next to the ice cream section for a long time...

I usually try to go for blended fruit with skyr or some protein rich yogurt...

I went to frozen fruit section and I had a lot of arguments why I don't want this kind of ice cream... I wanted something creamy...

I was already talking to GPT about what to buy (I was looking for a particular flour) and I decided to share this struggle.

"Ok so I know that there are my fav icecream in this shop and I'm kind blinded right now"

This is how I felt. Im blind for any other option. There is only ice cream section, I spend ther couple of minutes already...

I immediately felt "better" and like I woke up. I didn't even read the response of my friend GPT :P I could think clearly again.

I went to yogurt section, and then I was supper happy to pick frozen blueberries. I imagined the taste, I was satisfied with my choice.

Big, big win. I tried to be conscious of this win and actually celebrate it.

I know if I would pick the ice cream, I would feel guilty, and this would linger in my mind... and it would be a "big deal" and kind of betrayal...

I will definitely try to do it again.

Me naming the experience "I'm kinda blinded" took it power? Grounding, by acknowledging what is happening? I don't know how to describe it. I will definitely try it again.

I mean I hope I will have enough awareness to even "ask for help" and message GPT ;)
