LPT: Don’t let one event steal your entire day.

“Don’t ruin the rest of the day for what happened in 10 minutes.” Channel your focus like a laser, not a disco ball, don’t let one small distraction wreck your whole day.

Yesterday, I got the hostel allotment list from college. A small thing, right? But somehow it flipped a switch in my mind. Suddenly, thoughts like “Back to college soon… What have I even done these holidays?” hijacked my head. I felt behind. I couldn’t play my guitar properly. I didn’t even post with the energy I had on Day 1. My workouts felt weaker too.

It made me realize how fragile our focus is. You could be doing great, making progress… and a random external trigger like a college notice or even a conversation can derail your whole rhythm. It slowly poisons the day with self-doubt. You stop being in the zone and start overthinking the zone.

When you notice a distraction pulling you emotionally, pause, think about its importance in your whole day and channelise your focus wisely Just like lifting weights, refocusing takes reps. I’m learning to protect my focus like it’s gold. Hope this helps!
