Tips for coming to exchange here in Spring 2026

Hi all!

I just got accepted to come to study at HKU for Spring 2026 and am super hyped, but still have a few questions:

1. I went through the residence process and understand how it works, but couldn't find a good place which shows which one is the best for easy access to the city and is comfortable, and what are the chances I get accepted into the one I want?
2. I am going to the business school, so I have to take half of my classes there. What courses (in whatever faculty) would allow me to travel the most, with minimal attendance and low work required?
3. What is the best way to move around Hong Kong? Is there a shared bike system like most big cities, or is it better to take the metro?
4. How intense of the final seasons, and how much do people generally study there in order to prepare?
