Ship Wars: What is the Reason?

I’ve seen so much hate between people who ship different couples, like Nic/Olandria fans talking about Amaya/Bryan and vice versa. What is the reason? I literally do not understand why people beef over that. Like one has nothing to do with the other, really.

For those of you that hate one or the other, why do you hate them? What does their coupling have to do with your favorite couple?
