AIO? My partner hasn't responded to me after they had a bad night

Last night, my partner suddenly canceled our plans for this weekend saying that they don't want to talk about what happened for them to feel upset and I completely understand that. I also noticed their location was turned off but I'm not sure how since I didn't get the "stopped sharing their location with you" notification. This morning, I sent a "good morning" text and I got no response (I sent it at 9:30AM and it's now 3PM). It's only now when I noticed that they read my text at 10:30AM and the only sign I got from if they were okay is that they were playing a game on Steam.

For more context, last year we were supposed to go to a show but they told me it got canceled and when I went to look at my sisters location on Find My, it automatically went to their location which was where the show was supposed to be. When I asked, they told me it was canceled but they still wanted to go and later they ignored me for 4 days saying me not trusting them hurt. For that reason I'm afraid to ask why they're not talking to me but I'm afraid I might be pushing it since they seem to be going through something right now.

We have been together on and off for 3 years at this point and I feel like the biggest downside is that they don't communicate enough because of work, school, and them talking to their friends all the time and I think I communicate too much. I've been trying to tone down how much I talk while also getting them to talk more and it's been working sort of. I'm just conflicted on how to feel right now.
