Installed new cpu and now have worse performance
Title basically, I dont know whats going on.
Wanted a better cpu so i bought a Ryzen 7 5700x, updated my bios because it needed a newer version to recognize the cpu, and installed the cpu and now everything is running slow. Opening up tasks takes longer and games are performing a lot worse. Previously everything was running smooth and wasn't as slow. Any help with what to do is appreciated
List of current attempted methods of fixing the problem:
-Disabled and reenabled XMP and Game Boost
-Installed an older version of BIOS in case the new one was funky or something
-Installed new chip set drivers
-Changed the pcs performance plan
-Confirmed all the wires in the motherboard were plugged in correctly in case i bumped something while putting the new cpu in
