best position to wash hair to avoid water in ears?

hi, is it better to stand up in the shower to wash hair or better to bend over the bathtub and use shower head to wash hair (so head is upside-down ish)? just in terms of avoiding water getting into ears. I can't figure it out! MAny thanks
