Built a Sim Rig That Actually Matches My Room (and Isn’t an Eyesore)

Discussion

So I recently hit that point where my sim racing hobby was taking over my space — in the worst way. I had the classic wheel-clamped-to-desk setup, and while it worked, it was a total visual mess and not the most stable for longer races.

I started looking into sim rigs, but everything I found was either huge, over-engineered, or just... not something I wanted sitting in my living room. I wanted something clean, modular, and subtle enough to blend into my space without looking like a server rack from 1999.

After doing some research, I ended up sourcing aluminum profile parts through Alibaba International and worked with a supplier to tweak the frame dimensions, pedal placement, shifter location, and cable routing. Even got to pick a matte black finish to keep things low-key and minimal.

Building it was way more fun than I expected, and now I’ve got a rig that’s rock-solid but still fits the style of my apartment. It's sturdy, functional, and honestly looks like it belongs in the room instead of screaming "gamer cave."

If anyone else here’s been trying to balance aesthetics with gear-heavy hobbies, highly recommend exploring more modular options like this. Curious what other people have done to keep things clean without sacrificing function.
