Anyone ever have birth control pills/an IUD cause heavy periods?

Experience

So in January, I had my Lynette IUD come out. While it was coming out and after it caused heavy bleeding and giant clots. The ER did absolutely nothing and I ended up having to remove it myself at home because it was a holiday weekend and I was in so much pain I couldn’t keep anything down.

This started the next seven months of dealing with spotting and bleeding. I got on bc pills, the lowest dose estrogen but that was progressively upped as I kept having breakthrough bleeding and spotting and the pills weren’t doing anything.

In June I had the same heavy bleeding and large clots as January. I ended up in the hospital and needed a blood transfusion. We got the bleeding to stop with transexscimic acid and medroxyprogesterone at 10mg 3x a day.

I’ve had an ultrasound and an MRI done and the results came back normal. My gyn thinks it’s a hormonal imbalance and recommended I get another IUD, the nexplenon or the depo shot.

I really think the drop in progesterone caused by the IUD coming out and then increasing my estrogen with higher and higher doses of bc pills caused all these issues. I genuinely do not want to go back on hormonal birth control but the doctor made it seem like that was my only option. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this and did getting another IUD solve the issue? Did your cycle regulate itself? I had a Kyleena previously which mostly worked for me. I do want kids at some point in the future so an ablation isn’t an option.
