Taking my son (5) to Epic Universe

We will be there for one day and looking for some advice as it's new and there isn't much recent info after the park opened. We got the express pass, how long are the lines usually with this? What's the must dos and the should dos for a 5 year old? Will he be able to handle all of the rides? Hes never been on a coaster but wants to try. Also, how bad will the heat be? We're local so obviously used to summers, but does the park have alot of shade, air conditioning and misters to make it bearable?
