After 1yr of injections, suddenly I'm afraid to do it?
I've been doing subq injections every weekend for a year now no issue, no fear. The pain never bothered me (even when i was doing them wrong, injecting into the wrong spot for the first few weeks and then later realizing it was the wrong needle size too). I use a 25g 5/8in and injected into my thigh, then switched to my abdomen like 2 months ago.
I missed the 4th of July weekend since I forgot to bring my kit to my parents house. I figured it was fine to just do it Monday when back at my place. Then my ADHD, suddenly made it Thursday, which is not ideal, but I figured to just wait until Saturday and get back on weekly schedule. I put everything together, was ready to inject then got weirdly anxious about it and couldn't bring myself to do it. I left the kit out to try again the next day, and I tried and just kept freezing. So I still didn't do it, and came back several times throughout the day to try again. And it's now a whole Saturday later.
I'm sitting down today, needle in hand, skin pinched, and just need to inject. I still freeze. And I tried to count myself down, I tried playing something in the background. I tried to switch back to my thigh, but every time I would bring the needle close to my skin, I can't actually do it. And I fully start getting dizzy and like woozy in my head about it, to the point of like kinda wanting to just lay down.
I'm this close to just asking a friend to come over and do it for me while I'm not looking. But like, I don't know why this is suddenly hard for me to do?? Anyone else have this experience ?
