❗[HELP] Seat Belt Warning Not Working – 2008 Toyota Corolla

Safety Question

Hey everyone,

I’ve got a 2008 Toyota Corolla 1.6L automatic (JDM, made in Japan) and I noticed the seat belt warning system isn’t working properly.

Here’s what’s going on: • The seat belt chime doesn’t sound, and the seat belt warning light doesn’t come on • The door switch works fine — dome light turns on when door opens, and the key chime works when I leave the key in the ignition • I checked under the seat — found a grey plug and a matching white connector that fits it (possibly for the seat belt sensor?) • The “B ON / B OFF” indicator doesn’t show on the cluster when I turn on the ignition • Everything else on the cluster seems normal — all other lights come on during startup

I’m wondering: • Is it possible that the seat belt warning system is disabled (from factory or previous owner)? • Could it be a disconnected or faulty seat occupancy sensor? • Does this car even support B-on/B-off functions (like some Thai-built models)? • Could the cluster or wiring be at fault?

Anyone had similar experiences with Corolla or know what I should check next?

Thanks in advance
