Windows Update stole my internet.
I have been battling this issue ever since I purchased my computer. I've been able to exploit a work around, until the last update...
The broken: after every Windows Update I lose internet connectivity. Wifi, ethernet, neither access the internet.
The fix: for the past few years, since purchase actually, I would roll back the update, and I would get my internet back.
The issue: I no longer have the option to roll back the update since the last Windows Update. The option to roll it back is grayed out.
Attempts to fix: 1)Internet Diagnostics: I have been able to "Restart Adapter". This is a 30s fix. I'll get my internet back long enough to bring up a search engine, then I lose my internet again. 2)Device Manager: I have uninstalled/updated/reset adapters for both my wifi and ethernet. Neither fix the issue. 3)Command: I have done the whole ipconfig, reset DNS, blah blah blah, and restarted. No fix.
Observation: I have noticed in my Performance that my internet "appears" to be doing something. I'll "Receive" 16Kbps, then nothing, then Receive, then nothing, then 24, then nothing....
I'm not "smart" when it comes to computers, I just use them an awful lot.
Windows: Windows 11 Home 23H2 Ethernet: Realtek Gaming GbE Family Controller Wifi: Realtek 8821CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz Memory: 128 GB HDD: Toshiba DY01ACA100 932 GB SDD: WDC WDS500G2B0C-00PXH0 4.66 GB GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
I'm willing to start from scratch to fix this...
