Found some old 2017 Rocket League pullback toys I totally forgot about. They were just stashed in storage, and both still have their original DLC codes. I’ve never redeemed them.

I bought them sealed from the 99 cent store back in the day. I picked up three total, and somehow, little me pulled two rares. The Golden Octane and the Chrome Breakout Type S. I remember thinking, instead of being impulsive and redeeming the codes like most kids would, I’d hold onto them. I was always into collecting stuff, even back then.

Now it’s 2025, and after doing some research, I’ve seen all kinds of mixed stories. Some people say the codes still work, even if the toys weren’t sealed. Others said their codes didn’t work at all, even when they were still in the original packaging. So I’m kind of stuck. Do I test one of them, maybe the Breakout, just to see if it works? Or do I keep them both untouched, since finding unredeemed code toys from 2017 is basically unheard of now?

I also keep wondering if these codes are just going to expire out of nowhere. Like Epic might decide to pull the plug and that’s it. Part of me wants to keep the Golden Octane code unused and test the Breakout instead, but I don’t know if doing that would ruin the value in the long run. I honestly don’t know what to do.

What would you do?
