Katsura Trees in Zone 9

I’m looking to plant some sort of Japanese trees as a memorial garden for my brother. I was wondering if anyone else has had success growing Katsura trees in zone 9 and any tips for me. It gets very hot where I live, summer time gets to over 100, very dry. My work has many Ginkgo trees that thrive and they look very similar to see.
