Unsure of issue
Hi all - just after some advice and thought would be a good place to start. Firstly for context I’m a 33yo male, I was 140kg in Jan and have dropped to 120kg through exercise / treadmill. Two weeks ago I ran my first 5km without stopping on the treadmill, did the same on the Sunday, then during a 6km walk on the Monday I realised I had to pee multiple times. Thought nothing of it but that evening in bed felt a dull ache / pressure in my bladder. To be clear I don’t (thankfully) have any other symptom, I wouldn’t say I have any urgency as I can hold my bladder, it’s purely an ache or pressure feeling in the bladder that’s coming up to two weeks. Further context below to hopefully help:
- Symptom was sudden onset, out of nowhere
- Have had periods of relief (one as long as 24 hours) when resting / doing nothing.
- I have never done any warm up, warm down or stretching, I would literally just get out of the car and straight on the treadmill.
- 90% of the time a warm compress on the penis / bladder removes symptoms entirely whilst it’s warm.
- Symptoms are much less when laying in bed (more so when laying with left side to the mattress)
- Have no nighttime urination, can go to sleep at 1030pm and wake up 7am without interruption.
- No pain / burning during urination or ejaculation, although a few hours post ejaculation the ache and pressure seems more, also no bowel issues or symptoms.
- Ache and pressure seems more prevalent when active or sitting for >20/30 minutes, even just standing for a few minutes can bring a twinge or a gentle walk.
- Feel immediate relief post urination which on average would say lasts for 45-60 minutes, have been some examples where when busy or distracted it has been as long as 2.5 - 3 hours.
- Negative urine test
- Had something broadly similar in 2020/21 and had every urology test you can name, all negative. When urology told me I was fine and no more tests could be done my symptoms vanished, and had no issues for 4 years.
- I do have a pelvic floor PT booked for Thursday coming as tight pelvic muscle seemed mostly likely given only one symptom.
I appreciate any insight or support.
