Is Denji unintentionally the actual villian?

So Im only in Volume 15 but is him fighting the the "4 horsemen" and Primal Fears what causes the apocolapse? Like a man vs nature thing? The chainsaw might be the best symbol to represent humanitys effect on the enviorment. Is this just a more subtle Madoka targeted at guys?
