Commonwealth Timeline House of Representatives Election of 1918

Alot of things has happened with 1 , being america joined the world war and is almost defeating germant with mnay thinking the war will end in just a few months and many are thanking either freesoil Prime Minister Theodore Roosevelt or Republican house speaker Joseph G Cannon and america is at A great stalemate politically but is very successful.

James R Mann: says we should be imperialist to germany for starting this war and that We should take germanys colonies meanwhile says we should keep federal power and that we should say no to the new unions saying that this is dangerous in time of war.

Joseph G Cannon: says we should become isolationist and moderate to our approach with Germany and that we should lend money to Germany and get them as a new ally but does disagree with federal power and supports strong executive power instead.

Milton H Welling: says we should go back to being moderate and to bring back state power to individual governors and that we shpuld expand Mormonism agaisnt the church of england and that we should take this opportunity to leave the british commonwealth.

Champ Clark:says we should balance state, federal, and executive power to make a true strong democracy and to prevent extremism and that we should Increase Democracy on Germany and lower tarrifs saying it will only make things worse and more spiteful.

Robert L Henry: says that we should get rid of state power and federal and executive power saying that the power should belong to the individual people and citizens and that we should leave the Commonwealth and that we should become isolationist again.

A Mitchell Palmer: says we need Federal power but that we need to stay interventionalist without imperialism and that we should help prime minister Theodore Roosevelt and our labor unions out and that Germany should be punished but that they should keep the kaiser.
