Cap popped off molar, OK until next week?
Hello all. I am a physician and I answer a lot of questions on askdocs so I figured I would ask here for some help.
I was chewing on some milk duds and my molar cap popped off. It was left, lower, most posterior molar, 31 or 32 if I look it up (31 if 32 is a wisdom tooth I got removed). I cleaned it off in the sink, cleaned off my tooth, and popped it back on.
I want to get it cleaned and properly secured to get all that sugar out from in between the cap and base. It is Saturday now and I can confidently see my dentist sometime next week. If it stays secure, can I just leave it or should I go to the emergency dentist to get it cleaned and secured as soon as possible. No pain issues and my preference is to way, but don’t want to cause significant damage in a short time if this is something I need to take care of.
Thanks all!
