I need some help... this is driving me insane.  
  
I am getting some weird interference sounds when using certain voice changers, on both my GoXLR and through voicemod. I am unsure if it is something odd with the voice changer itself, or if its only noticeable when using these voice changers because of the way they amplify a frequency or something. I am attaching an audio clip which shows the issue both using GoXLR's robot voice changer, and with a voicemod voice called Genius that I found also creates a similar sound pattern on S sounds.

On the GoXLR, no matter how I adjust the equalizer I cannot seem to get rid of this issue. I can diminish it, but it seems tied to how well the robot effect works. If I get mostly rid of the sound issue, my voice also ends up sounding mostly normal. These are the GoXLR settings I'm referring to. I've tried all sorts of variations.

I have a shielded audio cable (97.5% coverage printed on the cable) but even so I have had interference in the past. I have a monitor with a power cable which has a converter box in the middle (like most laptop chargers have). A while back the XLR cable was pushed too close to this and was creating horrible sounds. I have moved this cable as far away from the box as possible and I'm still getting the issues you hear in the audio.

Any suggestions? I am not a sound engineer so I don't really know how to find a solution myself or what the problem actually is. I feel like maybe this interference is always in the background but you just can't hear it until I turn on certain voice changers...
