issue with my laptop's touchpad (windows 11)

earlier today, my cursor was acting strange. it kept freezing for short periods of time. a little while later, it disappeared entirely. i didn't know what to do, so i hard reset my laptop and obviously that failed. i had to plug in a mouse for the cursor to come back because nothing i tried was working. now i checked my device manager and my settings and the touchpad was nowhere to be seen. i even tried clicking the show hidden devices button. my build number is 26100.4652. my version is 24H2. feel free to ask for more details, as i'm not exactly sure what to add.
