Help Me Choose Between Two Job Offers in Saudi Arabia – China State Construction vs Rawabi
Salam aleikom everyone,
I’d really appreciate some advice from people who’ve worked in the Saudi construction industry or have experience with either of these companies.
I’ve received two job offers, and I’m trying to decide between them. Here’s the comparison:
Option 1: China State Construction – Riyadh • Salary: SAR 16,000/month (all-inclusive) • Location: Riyadh (which I prefer – I like city life) • No housing, food, or transportation provided ➤ Estimated monthly expenses: ~SAR 7,000 (rent, food, transport) • No overtime pay • Project: A major commercial building in Boulevard City, Riyadh – seems like a high-profile project • Workload expected to be heavy • Large international company with strong global reputation • Could significantly boost my career and CV long-term
⸻
Option 2: Rawabi – Amalla (Remote Site, near Al Wajh) • Salary: SAR 11,000/month • Housing, food, and transport fully provided • Overtime available and paid • Easier, more familiar work (RSG project – I’ve done similar work before) • Smaller company but seems to treat employees decently • Better short-term savings and more manageable daily routine • Remote location – quieter lifestyle, less access to services (I prefer city life but could manage)
⸻
My Dilemma: • China State offers long-term growth and international exposure, but it comes with higher stress, longer hours, and bigger personal expenses. • Rawabi offers financial comfort and work-life balance, but possibly less growth or challenge.
If you were in my place, which would you pick – and why? Also, has anyone worked for China State in Saudi Arabia or Rawabi before? Would love to hear any inside info.
Thanks in advance!
