False Advertising for a Lease, tenant lawyer help
My partner and I recently signed a lease for an apartment in San Diego that was advertised as a 2 bed, 2 bath unit with an in-unit washer and dryer. I specifically requested a 2bd/2ba model in our texts with the leasing agent, and they confirmed availability. We later received an email confirming our application and holding deposit for “Unit XX (2b/2.0ba),” but when we moved in, we discovered the apartment is actually a 2 bed, 1.5 bath and has no in-unit washer/dryer. The lease doesn’t explicitly mention these features, but we have documentation (texts, emails, application receipt) clearly showing we were promised something else. We feel like this is a bait-and-switch situation. What are our legal options here? Ideally, we’d like to terminate the lease without penalty
