Just finished DL1. What now?

Hi! I just finished playing Dying Light 1 for the first time. This game + RE 7/8 literally changed my whole mindset as a gamer. I have always HATED first person games except for Mirror's Edge. In a month I've completed These 3 games and now I can't go back to 3rd person lol.

The thing is, I finished DL1 (currently playing The Following) and I was eager for more, so I was going to buy DL2 almost mindless. But then, I saw people saying that the second game has a worst storyline and script compared to the first one, and that's the thing I liked the most about DL1, so now I don't know what to do.

I've thought about waiting for The Beast, which I think is bringing back Crane as a protagonist, and seems to be more similar to the first one. Also thought about Dead Island 2, but I fear it's more arcade-ish than DL1.
