Moving back to the nest… again. Lord help me.

Just Venting 😮‍💨

I’m wrapping up my Master’s in December, but I likely won’t start working until March or April. And since I’m still not sure where I’ll end up working, I can’t commit to a new apartment yet.

Finances are going to be tight in the meantime between finishing school & actually starting a job. When I brought this up to my mom, she suggested I move back home for a couple of months. As much as I appreciate the offer (and I recognize that I am blessed because a lot of folks don’t even have that option), I’m honestly not thrilled about it. I love my mom and we’re close, but we tend to bump heads when we’re living under the same roof.

On top of that, she’s recently started seeing my dad again, and we don’t have the best relationship. I try to avoid being around when he’s there. It makes the energy in the house weird and tense.

I know moving back home is probably the most practical option. It would take a huge financial burden off my shoulders during this transition, and it’s only temporary (2 or 3 months max) Ultimately it helps more than it hurts, so I’m going to do it.. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed. At this stage in my life, it’s hard not to feel like I should be able to do better for myself than having to move back in with my parents again. It’s not even my first time doing it, which makes it feel even heavier.

Just wanted to vent a little. Appreciate the space.
