Stop 3yo climbing into my bed overnight?

Looking for some advice (and maybe a little commiseration 😅).

My 3-year-old always climbs into my bed in the middle of the night—every single night. It’s usually sometime between 12am–2 a.m., and while I totally understand the need for comfort or closeness, it's a habit I would really like him to help him to grow out of now. He's like a magnet to me - always has been!

I’ve tried walking him back to his bed silently when he wakes around midnight, but when he wakes again at around 2am and comes into my bed, I barely even notice now..

I've also tried the chair method , the alarm clock light system and sticker chart. (though maybe we need a refresher.. and more dilignece)

We are an ex-cosleeping family, but he's been in his own bed at bedtime since he was 18 months. Our bedtime ritual, is that we do books, and then I say goodnight and leave the room, but go and read in an armchair that he can see from his bedroom door.

I’m curious—have any of you dealt with this? What worked (or didn’t)?

Would love to hear your experiences, tips.

Thanks in advance!
