Hey everyone, so I need some advice for people out there who have a gen 1 CRV. So a few months ago my CRV just turned off on me when I came to a stop at a light while driving. We basically assumed it was the fuel pump. So we changed it out and put a new one. Then a week later, my car did the same thing but lost power and turned off after a turn. So then I just pushed my car to a safe spot. Then after like 10 minutes it turned back on when I cranked the engine. So I decided to do a full tune up after I had another case of the car not wanting to start after cranking it. So I ended up changing my ignition switch, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor, cold air filter, mass airflow intake sensor, fuel filter, air intake hose, cleaned my throttle body and even did a oil change to 10w30. So after all that the car seems to be having good starts and been driving a bit better. A month goes by after no real issues and its doing good as my daily driving car. A few days ago when I got off work to start my car, I noticed it took a longer crank to start. So I was already a little hesitant with the sound of that. After I got home like 20 mins later and parked my car. I took a hour rest before some errands. I crank my car and no start at all. I tried it again a few times and nothing. So I had to borrow my significant other’s car for the next 3 hours. I get back home to move the CRV cause of street sweeper in the morning and the car starts fine… just wondering if anyone has any advice on what I should do next for the car. My father in law suggests we install a switch that can manually start the fuel pump to flow into the engine and then I start the car. He believes there’s something faulty in the wires to the fuel pump. The car has like 268k miles on it.
