Part time job as a student

Hi! I’m a student living in Lausanne for now 3 years. Since the beginning of this year i’ve been actively looking for a “stable” part time job in retail/sales (or anything really) and i’ve only gotten one interview after applying to over 100 offers. I have been working on and off in markets (christmas or the weekly ones) which is nice but it’s not enough to pay bills. People around me seem to get jobs fairly easily by getting referred, some even with no interview needed. I don’t really get how this works and how should i find people to recommend me? If anybody has any info on this it would be extremely helpful! Thanks in advance.
