Hi friends, looking to get a better sense of the problem just so I’d be a bit a little more informed when I go have my car inspected by a mechanic.

Problem: Car shakes at high speeds (around 60+mph). The shaking is more towards the front end of the car, seems more pronounced on the driver side but perhaps that’s a red-herring since I don’t have a passenger to attest to the strength of the shaking from the other side.

Context: The car did get a new set of front wheels. When I first got the car, it had 2 different brands of wheels at the front. The protection boot shock absorber cover is worn out (video below).

Observation:
The strength of the shaking seems to correlate with the weight of the car. If I do a hard pull, all the weight is on the back and the shaking is still there but not very harsh. As I start to settle in speed around 70mph is when the car starts to shake a bit harder as the weight of the car start to shift to the center. As I start to maintain speed and keeping the car straight, the car seems to settle and the shaking seems to be gone. As soon as I let go of the gas and the car starts to engine break, the weight shifts to the front and the shaking starts again and a bit harder then tapers off a little bit if I were to maintain a lower speed on a straight line.

What I’ve done so far:

• Alignment - with the following specs (camber, caster, toe)
	- front left: -0.2, 7.7, 0.01inch
	- front right: 0.2, 8.0, 0.01in
	- rear left: -1.7, 0.03inch (camber, toe)
	- rear right: -1.7, 0.04inch (camber, toe)

Seems to be in spec but issue still persists.

• Wheel Imbalance - Got that done but issue still persists. Perhaps they did a crap job?

My theories:
• Control arm issues: I inspected the control arm on the driver side wheel and everything _seems_ to be fine. The ball joint is intact with no play and the bushings don’t look rusted or worn and intact.

Maybe these sets of tires are just terrible? Perhaps the shocks are bad considering the boot shock absorber covers have worn so debris has gotten inside the shocks? Maybe because i had two different brands of wheels that may have messed with my suspension?

I just got this car 3 months ago and I am very new to the anatomy of cars but I want to learn (that’s why I got this car) so any insight or things I could try to do at home to look out for would be very helpful!
