Where to Stay for 3 days near LA? Hermosa Beach or in the Culver City Hills?

We have 3 days to spend in the Los Angeles area with an option to stay in Hermosa Beach, or an home near the Baldwin Hills overlook. We have two teen kids with us. They like both options. We want to do LA tourist attractions and the beach. It seems like Hermosa is a good choice but the Culver City one is closer to other things. Thoughts?
