You're offered a job as footman to a billionaire...for $105K per year
The butler of a multibillionaire has received your name, and he's called you. He's offering you an introductory position as footman (or waitress, for the ladies) in his employer's household. The starting salary would be $105K/year, plus benefits (health/retirement), one week's personal time plus three weeks' vacation time every year (increasing to four weeks after three years, and five weeks after five years), and a furnished apartment (air conditioned, internet, kitchenette) in the servants' quarters on the grounds or a housing allowance out in town at your option. Oh, the servants' quarters has a swimming pool and game room.
Your duties will include receiving guests when the butler is otherwise occupied, keeping the furniture dusted and everything put away and organized, cleaning up the cat's litter box and walking the dog as necessary, as well as serving meals. Your normal work schedule is 7 am to 7 pm three days per week, plus one Sunday every calendar month, same hours. You're expected to be available for the occasional party or special celebration (announced well in advance); you will be paid overtime for any work outside your normal hours, and triple time if you're scheduled to work on an official holiday. You do get a meal break either before or after the family has their lunch, and you're welcome to take breakfast or supper in the servants' dining room before/after your shift begins/ends.
What's the catch? There is none. The billionaire simply decided that with all the money he's making he can afford to be generous with the people who work for him. The butler is currently pulling in $750K per year and is up for a raise. You can apply for a promotion when/if a vacancy opens up, although turnover is very, very low. One thing, though...if you have the secret thought of embezzling from the billionaire, best be very careful to play your cards close to your vest. The other servants are very appreciative and fiercely loyal, and would rat you out in a heartbeat if they suspected funny business.
So, with that in mind...would you take the job?
