Serious improvement

Deworming unexpectedly improved my chronic eczema—has anyone else experienced this?

I’ve been struggling with severe eczema on my hands for the past five years. It always starts with intense itching, followed by clusters of tiny water-filled blisters. These eventually break open and leave my skin raw, cracked, and extremely painful. It has been a very traumatising experience and it has altered my life quality.

For the last two years, I’ve been using cortisone creams and thick moisturizers (like lipocream) daily—without fail. If I skipped even one day, the eczema would flare up again. Despite the treatment, I couldn’t use dishwashing liquid or any fragranced product without reacting immediately. I’ve come to accept that this is just how my life is: always vigilant, always treating, and I haven’t had cuticle skin in years because of how inflamed and damaged my hands constantly were.

But then something strange happened.

Over the last four months, I’ve been taking deworming medication somewhat regularly—just for general gut health, not even thinking about my eczema. I didn’t expect anything to change, but I slowly realized that I was using less and less of my ointments. I was even forgetting to apply them some days. More surprising: I started handling dish soap, fragranced lotions, and other products without reacting.

Then I noticed something I hadn’t seen in years—my cuticles started growing back. My skin wasn’t cracking. I wasn’t itchy. I’ve made no other changes to my routine, diet, or environment.

Could the deworming medication have somehow reset my immune system or reduced hidden inflammation? Has anyone else experienced eczema relief after parasite treatment?

I’m genuinely shocked and cautiously hopeful. Curious to hear if others have gone through something similar.
