Dating Event Experience in Bangalore/ Small World Experience
Just wanted to share what went down at this so-called “Live Date Experience” event I attended recently in Koramangala, Bangalore. The event has multiple names floating around: Live Date Experience, Swipe In Real Life, Speed Dating, Blind Date, Singles Meetup — but it's all the same thing, run by a group called Small World.
📍 Where & How:
- Venue: Small World, Koramangala
- Ticket: I paid ₹750 via BookMyShow (prices vary from ₹600 to ₹1000 depending on which version of the event you book, even though it's literally the same event)
💭 Expectations:
I went in expecting something simple: people genuinely interested in dating or at least socializing. Some icebreakers, decent structure, and enough time to actually connect with someone. What happened instead?
🚨 The Reality:
It was a total scam. Every single girl at the event was part of the organizing team. Not one of them paid to attend or came to actually meet anyone. They were just planted there to maintain the gender ratio and fool paying attendees.
Even worse — the event was chaotic, rushed, and unorganized:
- First 30 mins were wasted on an open mic (not mentioned anywhere beforehand)
- The actual "speed dating" part was squeezed into 20 mins
- You got about 30 seconds per person, and if by some miracle there was a match, maybe 5 extra mins to talk
- The host? Useless. She asked awkward icebreaker questions like “Do you like hiking or trekking?” — no context, no help, no depth
- No refreshments, no welcome, no structure — just confusion and fake engagement
💀 The Vibe:
Awkward. Forced. Weirdly sterile. It felt like everyone was just pretending. The host didn’t help set a friendly tone, and there was zero space to have a real conversation.
After the event, a few of us guys were standing outside chatting when we noticed new attendees arriving. A girl walked up, and when we casually asked if she was joining the next session, she straight up said she was getting paid to be there. That moment confirmed everything — it was staged from the start.
🧠 What I Learned:
- This is not a dating event — it’s performance art, and you're paying to be the audience
- No one connects. No one dates. Everyone leaves more confused (and some, honestly, crushed)
- One guy turned to me right after and said: “Man, that was so humiliating. Do I look that ugly?” — and that hit hard. The event didn’t just waste people’s time, it genuinely hurt people’s confidence. For what? Fake interactions with planted participants and some money?
❌ Final Verdict:
Avoid ANY event organized by Small World. Do NOT fall for their many event names. It’s a money-making scam disguised as a dating meetup.
If you really want to meet people, I’d suggest checking real social groups on Meetup instead. At least those are honest about what they are.
🛑 TL;DR:
Speed Dating by Small World in Bangalore is a scam. Fake participants, no real engagement, total waste of time and money. Don’t let it mess with your confidence. Save your ₹750 and your dignity!
