Applying to schools with a lack of experience
Hello, recently this summer I completed my B.A. in Psychology. I am working towards trying to get a hold of some professors, since now that I am done and not paying for college I have a lot more time for research. I'm hoping that they allow me to study without needing to take courses, but I feel I'm in a bind for applications. In the rural state I live in, unfortunately IO positions are few and far between. I worked at a pharmacy for the entire time I was doing my undergrad.
I want to apply for an MA program. Not necessarily picky as to where, but I'm worried my lack of experience will affect my acceptance to the schools I most prefer to attend (FIU, UCF, SUNY-Albany etc). My overall GPA is a 3.1, but I assume my Psychology GPA is much higher. Still studying to take the GRE so I don't have that information yet.
Any application tips, school recommendations, or ideas to find an internship/volunteer work would be great (I tried SIOP, no luck).
Thank you so much! Appreciate your help!
