Is a car dealership junking a car without permission illegal?

So hypothetically a car got bought from my a car lot(kind of a fishy lot as it's personally owned)A year after it got hydroplaned into a ditch, there was some minor damage to the underneath. So it got taken to a shop and they said they'll take a look at it. It got towed up there and they ended up saying it would be 400$ to fix however a different mechanic said it would only be 250$. So they said they would tow it to the other shop when they had time. During that time the house burned down and i the original car dealership offered to pay for the tow to the house. the address got sent and he said give him a week. Today the car dealership was on the way to work and the car wasn't there so they called him up and he said he junked it because repairs were over 1000$. He said he couldn't get ahold of them and lost the address to where it was supposed to get towed. He got 150$ for junking it and said they could get another 100$ if they gave them the title. They told him they wanted the car, he said to get the car back he had to give back the 150$ and they had to pay 200$ on top of that for them to tow it back to the house. They argued back and forth because they said that was his (the car dealerships) problem. Is there a way to sue him ? Any advice is appreciated .
