Wipe questions

I’m new to tabor (I’ve only played this wipe) and I’m a bit confused on all this which is going on. I thought the wipe was today and the event is something that happened after wipe to maybe kickstart everyone. I’ve just logged off and see these scavs with full armor now so I assume that’s the event, my question being does that mean wipe is in 3 days (after the event) or is it happening on just a random day and the event has nothing to do with it?
