Balancing work schedules and raising a puppy in sf

I am exploring adopting a puppy with my partner. He goes into the office 5x a week, but not for the full 8 hours and I need to go in 2-3 times a week. Has anyone managed a similar schedule and raised a puppy here in sf? I understand puppies can’t be alone for more than a few hours and need interactions and gradual crating. I’ve looked up doggy day cares nearby, but I was told by a representative from a rescue center that these can be overstimulating for puppies. It makes me wonder if most people that get puppies have at least one person in the household who has a remote job or if they rely on a person from rover or just what their overall strategy is. curious to learn from any BWT who’ve raised a puppy and maintained their 9-5!
