"Our Muslim brothers and sisters"

A recently heard a priest refer to "our Muslim brothers and sisters", where as I heard another priest say that we become children of God only in baptism.. so those who are not baptised aren't our brothers and sisters.

Can anyone explain this contradiction? Were one of the priests wrong or are there nuances which make them both right?
