Sam Flanders

Lots of talk about us going after Butters and Reid, but could Sam Flanders be a top tier player we could target for cheaper?

The Suns are stacked, resulting in Flanders being limited to a half forward player. Last two years he would play across halfback, mid and occasionally half forward, and was a top line player in the comp.

Gold coast have 5 academy players this year, 1x top 3, 1x top 10, 3x fringe firsts. Gold coast have said they would like to keep them all but know it will require something creative to get there.

Hardwick did say last month he doesn't want to trade Flanders but no shock a coach wants to keep a gun player.

Could this potential trade get it done?

Hawks first and second round picks (tied to Carlton) for

Flanders, GC first round pick (tied to Collingwood) and either GC 2nd round (tied to them) or a future pick.

This would result in essentially Hawks getting Flanders and GC additional points equal to pick 17 after academy discount.
