My 4 month old beagle bites my hand aggressively

Hey everyone I’m hoping someone here can offer advice or has gone through something similar

My 4-month-old beagle, Chico, is really well trained. He listens to all basic commands like sit, stay, come, and leave it. But whenever I try to pet him or hold him, he suddenly bites my hand really hard

The weird part is when I say “No,” he gives this aggressive-looking face, runs away, then comes right back and bites again. It’s like he’s playing some game of sneak attacks but it doesn’t feel playful at all

Other than this, he’s super sweet and listens well. But this biting when we try to show affection is becoming a problem. I’m not sure if it’s just a puppy phase, fear, overstimulation, or something else. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Any advice, tips, or even similar stories would really help. Thanks!
