Schengen Visa – File transferred to Immigration Office (SPF Intérieur) – Syrian Family

Question

Hello, We are a Syrian family living in Iraqi Kurdistan with legal work permits. We submitted a Schengen visa application for Belgium on July 1st, 2025. The embassy received our documents on July 6th, and on July 27th we received an email stating the file was transferred to the Immigration Office (SPF Intérieur) for further decision.

There were no missing documents, no rejection, and no additional requests from the embassy.

🟦 Does this mean we have a higher chance of approval? 🟦 Is it normal for Syrian applicants/families to be referred to the Immigration Office? 🟦 Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

Thank you for any insights!
