Some info about the alliance + Q and A

So if you haven’t seen my other posts for some reason yes I’m back and I’ll probably be gone quick again because I mostly only like the mod elections 😭

But anyways if you read the title you’re probably wondering what the alliance is. Let me give an explanation since I’ve seen some people such as u/QuantaviousTheWise giving some stock into it

Basically, the Alliance was a private alliance (shocker!) initiated by me, u/wiptes167, u/gunsmokexeon, u/mrmewtwokid, blackberryactual, and problemovymackousko intended to reform the election system to resemble a parliament and also the implementation of political parties, as well as some other things. All members of the alliance had privately backed wiptes for class 6 which is why I offered relatively poor opposition to him. Also, the whole “synthesis pact” was an idea shored up by me as a public deal between me and wiptes although I did expect him to follow through on it (he didn’t really, although I do not really mind lol).

Following the founding of the alliance, after a few weeks or so gsmoke decided to leave. I have no idea why really but I think it was because I was trying to get more people in (including QTW) however he decided to expose it and I didn’t really understand why lol

Wiptes also left shortly after during the darkest day after the whole shenanigans around OC/IP were released (I call it that lol). Mew has basically left Reddit so he obviously decided to leave.

But yes, let’s get to the point of all of this. We need a moderator who’s willing to leave their personal bias behind for the good of the community. I do not know if this is common knowledge, but after I told gsmoke in DMs and entrusted him with information that OC was trying to ban elections, he outright TOLD one community about it. He is also appointed by the mod OC appointed and approved. If you are reading OC I don’t mind you and yes the whole drama is over, but we do not need someone like this as a moderator of the community…

With all of that said, I’m ready to discuss some REAL policy regarding my campaign. Ask me any questions below and here are some questions and answers that I’ve prepared:

Am I a supporter of RCV?

No, I am not a strong proponent of RCV. While I do believe it is an improvement over the current system, it doesn’t do much to fix the current major issues IMO.

Instead of RCV, I would support a system where multiple elections would be held at the same time. Everyone would run in the same election, and the top 2 or 3 in vote percentage can become mod. I think credit to sea afternoon who first gave me this idea a couple of month ago (I could be wrong but just in case)

Why am I attempting to unseat gunsmoke?

While gsmoke may offer some stability to the community, I feel that he has been another do-nothing mod who is more about talk and no play. I also would appreciate if we could have someone who attempts to be honest as moderator, which gunsmoke is not. After promising that he would not tell one community that I told him about all of the darkest day stuff, he goes up and tells him 5 minutes later…

Why should I vote for you?

Despite being an average member of this community, I DO have some accomplishments and I have always attempted to stand up for what is right in the end of things. I have previously helped reveal corruption amongst the mod team (Ahig, OC, IP) and will continue to be unapologetically tough on corruption. (The mods are probably currently fine though)

Also, I will be a mod that cares about you, no matter how hated you are within the community (unless you are a nazi or communist). I will push some legislation in order to make this community fairer overall, in terms of election. There should be an exclusive one-day period where people’s first impressions are based solely on policy. We need to make mod elections policy-based, not just candidate based.

In addition to all of this, I will begin an aggressive campaign (cross posting, whatever else lol) to make this subreddit known. I will incentivize activity by making member of the month challenges interesting for once, and also have the winner become member of the month. (I had won the prize during July, but never got it. Not that I mind, but it’s an example of small things slipping through among the mod team)
