Honest Reflection: How to Better Protect Ourselves Here After What Happened with Gay4Tarot

Sub Feedback & Suggestions

Hey everyone,

This isn’t easy to write, but I feel like it needs to be said, after what happened with Gay4Tarot, a lot of us were left hurt, confused, and with this heavy feeling of betrayal, me too.

And it doesn’t feel right to just move on like nothing happened, because in spaces like this, we come looking for something deeper, something more human, we shouldn’t leave with less trust than when we arrived

This isn’t about throwing shade or “talking bad” about anyone, it’s about opening up a real conversation. Because if there’s something good that can come out of all this, it’s that we learn how to protect ourselves better and build something healthier, not from fear, but from awareness.

🧿 When spirituality becomes a costume

We all know it: some people put on the mask of spirituality to get attention, money, or power. They speak beautifully, repeat deep-sounding phrases, but have no empathy or consistency in their actions, and that hurts even more, because when someone talks to you about “light” and then manipulates or treats you badly, it’s a double blow

Many of us felt that from the start with this person something didn’t add up, but we also know how easy it is to doubt your intuition when everyone around you is clapping

So today, more than ever, I want to say this:

👉 Trust your intuition. It’s your strongest ally.

🌓 About the Mods and Their Role

This was also painful because that person was validated by the mod team for a long time, they held a position of trust, and that makes many people today distrust not just readers but the space itself.

That said, we also understand mods can’t see everything, they can’t guess what’s going on behind the scenes, nor do they have a crystal ball! they do a lot of silent work that many don’t see, and that deserves recognition

It’s an invitation to think how we can protect ourselves together because a community is a safe space, with communication, participation, listening... and yes, also the humility to revisit past decisions.

And I want to remind everyone what mods often say:

🤍🫶 If you see something strange, speak up. Use modmail, You’re not bothering

🤍 What if we do something together?

Create a pinned post where we can share recommendations for readers who have worked within this sub and who we’ve had good/bad experiences with.

No external links, no outside promos, just people who participated here and showed consistency.

Because it’s not realistic to expect mods to filter everything, and it wouldn’t be fair if they had to, but if the community can build a sort of collective memory, that gives us something more solid 🤍

Also, for those offering services:

it’d be great to move away from generic content, AI-made images, and start speaking more like real people Who are you? Why do you do what you do? how do you work? People want connection, not just aesthetics!!

🤍 From My Place as a Tarot Reader

I grew up in a Buddhist-Shinto community, so I’ve been close to spirituality since I was a kid, now I read tarot, and I can tell you clearly that the most important thing we have readers and seekers alike is intuition that doesn’t fail, that little voice telling you “yes” or “no” is the best compass

If you’re going to ask for a reading or an energetic work, talk to the person. Ask how they work, what they believe, what boundaries they have. See if they bring you peace, if you feel respected, if there’s back-and-forth or just a closed script. All these practices; tarot, astrology, runes, witchcraft, palmistry are beautiful and useful paths but what really makes a difference is the relationship.

A reading shouldn’t be just a quick answer, it’s a moment, a space where you feel seen and accompanied

And please:

Don’t think that because something is free, it doesn’t have value.

I’ve seen beautiful things come out of short or no-cost readings, and also scams dressed as expensive services. The value is in the message, not the price And especially in the person holding it!

I don’t have all the answers, i just know this isn’t something that should be hidden or treated like a taboo, talking about it is part of the healing too, and spirituality should never be a space rooted in fear.

So if you’re about to ask for a reading, a ritual, or any kind of spiritual work, go ahead, of course!

But first, check in with yourself ask the reader how they work, what they believe in, what boundaries they hold, pay attention to the energy they give you Don’t be afraid to ask questions

And if something doesn’t feel right, trust that Your intuition is wiser than a thousand reviews 🤍🫶
