More painful cramps/frequent spotting months after mirena

I did a few searches but everyone’s stories are so different. I guess I just want to know that my journey isn’t so far out of the ordinary that it requires medical intervention. Of course I’ll go if needed, but my gyno is 2 hours away and it’s very difficult me to find childcare for an entire day to go to the doctor. Anyway… I got my mirena iud in November. The intent was to help with heavy periods and monthly breakthrough bleeding that left me anemic. I was easily bleeding two weeks a month and going through a tampon an hour for one of the weeks. Now, eight months later, I am experiencing near debilitating menstrual cramps when I get my period. While my periods are SIGNIFICANTLY lighter, I am also bleeding almost daily. Of the last 30 days, I had 4 days in which I wasn’t bleeding or spotting. Is this within the normal range of an adjustment period (no pun intended)? Strings are right where they should be. I experience some pain during sex but no more than I ever did (tilted cervix, generously endowed male partner). If your story is similar, would you be willing to share it and tell me how/if it resolved? This is the last thing I can try to control my bleeding and I’m desperate for it to work out.
