Found art from 1950's Taiwan.. what to do next?
Hello friends, long time lurker, first time posting.
My MIL (80+) was married in Taiwan in the 1960's and was gifted what seem to be some significant pieces of art as a wedding gift. Her father was a very senior official in the military so many of the wedding gifts were of traditional Chinese long scroll artwork using traditional brush techniques by known artist. Much of the art was recently found and in good condition, in the original leather wrapping or tubes that have been sitting in a cabinet for 50+ years. We are based in the NJ/NYC area and uncertain as to how to have the art evaluated and preserved. If anyone has a recommendations of where to take the art (15+ pieces) it would be great appreciated!
