Custom keybinds?

So I’ve been playing Minecraft in general, on atm10, since June, but I come from a background as a former WoW addict who also developed addons. So I’ve thought about tinkering with Minecraft modding a bit.

One thing I can’t stand is the fact that I don’t have keybinds for certain things; usually because the mod author just didn’t make one for it. I know with WoW, I could easily make keybinds even for things in other addons. Sometimes I’d have to be creative and use a gimmicky /click on their frames in a macro, if they gave them global names, but for the most part no issues.

That being said, looking at Minecraft, is there a reason something doesn’t exist to create binds for things that don’t have them? I’m thinking about stuff like “oh I wish there was a keybind for this UI button in a mod that they didn’t decide to give a bind to”, not like “one click do something ridiculous you shouldn’t do”. Or the biggest thing: when they don’t add keybinds to open their guis.

Of course now that I’m asking I can’t think of a very specific thing that annoys me just yet but hopefully y’all understand what I’m getting at. I don’t want to dive into figuring out modding only to realize something isn’t possible or it isn’t done because it would be considered cheating. I am not interested in cheat stuff, just QOL things.
