A question about uncle bens tek

Hi all. I’ve decided to use uncle bens tek again this year. But instead of mixing colonised rice with a substrate and spawning to bulk I think I’m just going to fruit directly from the bag as I ended up with far more mushroom than I needed last year. My question is.. once rice bags are fully colonised, some people add a thin layer of coco and coir on top of the rice while some people have told me to just bring in fruiting conditions without bothering about a casing layer of coir. What are your opinions on what I should do? Thanks
